What Size is a Slimline Card? by Kathleen Rosenfield September 2022
The best part of making a slimline card is all the ”stuff” you can put on the card front. That is to say, there is a lot more space here than on a standard A2 size card!
At first I was a bit intimidated, oh no, “new measurements and cutting.” The question, what size is a slimline card kept going round and round in my thoughts. I googled it but got too many different measurements involving 8th’s and 16th’s. Yikes! After that, I decided to measure the Stampin’Up slimline envelopes I had purchased and cut the cards a bit smaller (exact easy measurements below). Mission accomplished!

How to make a slimline card, mat & card front:
- Take a piece of Basic White cardstock or any color cardstock of your choice 8 1/2 x 11
and cut it so it is 8 1/2 x 7.
Score the 7 inch side at 3 1/2.
Your final measurement is 3 1/2 by 8 1/2.
Card base done! - Use papers of your choice for the mat (cut 1/8 smaller than card base) and card front (cut 1/8 smaller than mat). I used Gorgeous Grape cardstock and Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper. Layer the mat to the card base and the card front to the mat with Multipurpose Liquid glue.
- Stampin’Up has the slimline envelopes in stock. It is a #9 envelope, 3 7/8 x 8 7/8.
