Making a Shaker Card with Bottled Happiness by Kathleen Rosenfield 2022
Making a Shaker card is a great way to spend an afternoon. To me, it looked harder than it was. That is to say, once you make the first one, you’ve got this. This is my first time making a Shaker card ever! I don’t know what took me so long. As a result of a good first time, I think I’m hooked.
Making a Shaker card with a little of this & a little of that:
I wasn’t going to post this card because the 2 papers I used (background and wood) are not new and I want everything i use to be available to you. However, I was in a hurry because the mood hit me to make this so I was grabbing colors and papers without thinking. However, it makes me realize that you can use any stamps, inks and papers. Get creative, use what you have! After that, splurge when you can.
How To:
- If you’re not sure how to make a card and mat for front of card, see my article and/or short video on Size of A2 Cards.
- Cut a piece of white cardstock 3 x 4 1/4
Cut a piece for bottom of cardstock 1 x 3. This is the wood look paper that I used.
Adhere this to the white cardstock.
Punch out bottle opening with bottle punch. - Stamp flowers with Gray Granite ink right above bottle opening. I used flowers from Hello Harvest stamp set. Colored with Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green blender pens.
Cut a piece of white cardstock 2 3/4 x 4. This is going on the back once the bottle and sequins are set in. I colored some pool party marker onto it so the bottle would look half filled. - Remove adhesive from front of bottle and place inside of bottle opening from the back.
Turn over and gently put sequins in back of bottle. I used a tiny spoon.
After this, gently remove adhesive from back of bottle and place smaller piece of cardstock on back.
Attatch with dimensionals to mat on card front.
Stamp sentiment in Pool Party ink on Pool Party card stock and attach with dimensionals.
Added a bow from twine.
