Heat Emboss & Emboss Resist Techniques for Card Making by Kathleen Rosenfield, December 2022.
The card below shows two techniques. The first is heat embossing which outlines the white roses on a piece of white cardstock.
The second technique is emboss resist which simply means the white emboss of the roses resists the ink that I blended onto the cardstock after I heat embossed the roses. I used Stampin’ Up blending brushes for this.
My sentiment is also heat embossed using white embossing powder on black cardstock.
It looks complicated but it’s really simple and fun!
How To:
Heat Embossing and Emboss Resist Techniques:
- Clean a piece of white cardstock with the embossing buddy.
Stamp images on white cardstock using Versamark instead of ink (images will be very hard to see) - Cover images with embossing powder and tap off onto a plate or tray.
- Dry with a heat gun until embossing powder turns shiny.
- Use blending brushes to create background color and watch the embossed outlines resist this color!
- Add additional stamping and embellishment as desired!
